My everdearest angels,
By the time that you're reading this post, I believe that you're already grown up - able to navigate well the internet and checks on what keeps Mama and Papa busy online. So, welcome to my online world! See, your mama and papa are not just busy hitting likes on Facebook but, we are busy building and securing your future (hopefully we did).
Your Mama was a dreamer and always will be. She has lots of plans in mind that she can barely decide where and what to start. But one thing is for sure, she'd do everything to make her cuddly bears happy. I hope that in a way I had given you a happy and memorable childhood years. Forgive mama when there are times that she'd transform into a scary monster mom. I didn't intend to. Did I scare you too much?
When I say that I want you both to grow up fast so mama can enjoy longer rest, I lied. I'd still want seeing you on your pajamas while you rest your legs on me. The mouth sometimes doesn't coincide with what the heart says. No matter how many parenting articles I've read online just to improve my mommy skill, still I can't make it happen the way it should, like saying "YES" instead of "NO".
I could have let you play in the rain like I did when I was young but the atmosphere and the rainwater isn't as safe as it was before. We are now living in a generation when almost nothing is fresh and unpolluted. The noise you heard every night, that was the power coal plant a block away from our house.
I know that you love swimming with the other kids in the sea nearby. I loved that too. But you see, it became a dumping site to some who have lost their love for mother earth. You'd surely don't want to get that itchy icky red patches.
For once,I also don't want to climb to bed early. Hey, playing with toys is a whole lot more fun when you're in bed. I know that. But it saddens mama that you'd wake up late the next day and missed the mesmerizing sunrise just over our window. Nothing can beat the feeling of being grateful for another day ahead while you welcome the sun shining and smiling back at you.
Was my voice too loud when I warn you not to use your crayons on the wall? Mama is very happy that you have certain inclination to arts but please spare our wall. I want you to come home in a tidy and homey nook.If you didn't notice, Mama wants to spend time with you shading your coloring books. Art is relaxing and more fun when with you two.
Did you almost throw up when I forced you to finish your milk? Mama just wanted for you to grow stronger and smarter. I'll be the happiest mom when I know my children are tough enough to withstand all challenges. And part of that is thanks to your milk.
And when Mama tells you I love you, she certainly means it even if she sometimes transforms into the not-so-lovable mom. I need to say no for you to appreciate the value of yeses. That life is so beautiful to explore yet you don't always get it to work as what you plan. There will always be obstacles that will get in your way but it doesn't mean that life is cruel. It just want you to be the best person that you can be when you find your own pot of gold.
Loving you wholeheartedly,
Mama Anne :)
